For the October demo, Warhammer Survivors evolutions pair a weapon with a matching passive. Dated player reports describe maximizing the base weapon and then collecting a boss chest while carrying the companion. Official text independently confirms weapon-and-power-up combinations, but does not publish every companion or a universal launch trigger. The table below is a corroborated demo reference from October player reports and later discussion replies.
October demo recipe table
These are eleven unique combinations in the supplied October research. Nuln Oil appears across both universes, which explains why some references show an additional row without adding another unique recipe. The table keeps base weapon, companion and evolved result separate. Read it as a dated demo reference rather than a complete inventory of launch evolutions.
| Base weapon | Companion passive | Evolved form |
|---|---|---|
| Boltgun | Dice Cube | Heavy Bolter |
| Lasgun | Gauntlet | Meltagun |
| Chainsword | Tape Measure | Eviscerator Chainsword |
| Whirlwind Battery | Liquid Green Stuff | Orbital Bombardment |
| Frag Grenade | Bandolier | Ripper Pistol |
| Tempest Axes | Sabaton | Whirlwind Axes |
| Boltstorm Pistol | Dice Cube | Typhoon Crossbow |
| Brazier Staff | Liquid Green Stuff | Master of Runes |
| Rope & Grapnel | White Dwarf | Ghost of Rhea |
| Nebulous Sea Fog | Bugman's Tankard | Aquatic Illusions |
| Nuln Oil | Hourglass | Mordant Earth |
The pairings agree between the October player table and the other dated material summarized in the source pack. Agreement is useful corroboration, but it should not be described as a test of the unreleased full game. Official reveals confirm some of the base-to-result relationships independently. They do not turn every community companion requirement into an officially published launch rule.
The reported evolution sequence
First identify the base weapon and its companion from the table. October players describe holding the passive, maximizing the base weapon and collecting a boss chest. This is the recurring sequence in the dated discussion replies. It is more precise than advice to open any chest at any time with a similarly named item.
Keep the individual conditions separate when troubleshooting. An item becoming available in your unlock pool is not the same as carrying it during the current run. A champion level also should not be substituted for the base weapon's development. The research does not establish a universal chest minute or a guaranteed next-chest outcome, so neither is added as a requirement here.
The important Whirlwind Battery correction
Older May advice pairs Whirlwind Battery with Tape Measure. The later October reports correct the companion to Liquid Green Stuff. The evolved form is Orbital Bombardment, a relationship independently confirmed by the official April reveal. This is a case where the source's build date changes the practical answer.
If an artillery evolution is not working, identify the weapon before repeating an older recipe. The rocket evolution guide explains the conditional mapping from the search term rocket to Whirlwind Battery. Morvenn Vahl's separate missile-related weapon belongs to a different named line. Similar visuals or a shared description of missiles do not make those equipment identities interchangeable.
Dice Cube is not D6 Dice
The table uses Dice Cube as a companion for Boltgun and Boltstorm Pistol. D6 Dice is a separate weapon identified in the official material. Selecting the weapon should not be described as satisfying a recipe that names the passive. The distinction is explained in the Dice Cube guide.
It is equally important not to apply the passive to the wrong evolution. Lasgun uses Gauntlet in the October table, while Brazier Staff uses Liquid Green Stuff. A shared place in the equipment menu does not make passives universal keys. Check the actual names in the run before deciding that the chest or level sequence is the problem.
Weapon names and evolved names
The first survivor reveal identifies Boltgun evolving into Heavy Bolter. October demo reports supply Dice Cube as its companion and describe the chest sequence. This combines an official result name with dated community procedure. The Boltgun walkthrough is the focused page for following that particular line.
The broader weapons guide also separates Heavy Bolter from Heavy Bolter Fidelis. An evolution name should be matched to its own base weapon rather than inferred from a partial name overlap. The table here is a recipe reference, not a complete account of every signature weapon. Use the named base, passive and result as three distinct checks.
Do all passives need to be maximized?
The recurring October advice emphasizes maximizing the base weapon. The supplied discussion also contains later replies disputing an earlier claim that Bandolier must be maximized. That evidence does not support a blanket instruction that every companion must reach its highest level. This page therefore does not manufacture a universal passive threshold.
When a guide supplies an exact level, compare the source date and the equipment named. Do not replace an unclear condition with a number remembered from another game. The useful checks established here are companion identity, the base weapon's state and the reported boss-chest route. More precise launch requirements would need evidence from that build rather than extrapolation from the demo.
Universe and equipment availability
Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar have distinct equipment contexts. The selected universe matters when deciding whether a base weapon and companion can be part of the run you are planning. An unlock in a reference should not be treated as proof that the item is already offered on your current save. Read the current Objectives screen to identify the reward and context.
The Armory page explains the equipment-reference access question. That reference role is different from acquiring a companion during a run. Knowing a recipe, unlocking an equipment option and actually holding the required pair are separate steps. Keeping them separate makes a failed attempt easier to diagnose without inventing a spawn rule.
Demo progress and release scope
The full game advertises 75+ weapons, while the recipe table describes the combinations corroborated in the October material. Those are different scopes and should not be forced into a complete launch inventory. The Steam listing establishes the broader weapon-and-power-up evolution system. It does not supply all missing recipe details or release-build statistics.
The developer also says demo progress does not transfer to the full game. Practicing an evolution can teach its equipment identities without banking the resulting unlock for launch. The earlier demo and October demo have a separate no-transfer boundary as well. The release announcement provides the save rule alongside the updated demo's release context.
Find the focused evolution answer
Use Boltgun for Heavy Bolter, Lasgun for Meltagun, Whirlwind Battery for Orbital Bombardment and Brazier Staff for Master of Runes. Each page answers its own equipment question rather than treating this table as a substitute for every explanation. This research was checked November 8, 2026. No full-release test, guaranteed chest timer or invented numerical requirement is claimed.
